Turn of the Paige

Life is a test, and I didn't take very good notes.

Graduation

May15

When Gmama and Papa Joe babysat Kayla just last week, she faked crying pretty much the whole time she was there.  On Wednesday the 12th, when we went to a banquet in honor of some of the Seniors graduating from High School, Kayla gave the most pathetic cry when being held by Daddy.  She was looking over at me giving this obviously fake cry while reaching out for me.  I just wanted to eat!   I guess we’ve breezed right into the separation anxiety stage of things.  I dub her “Velcro baby” now.

Obviously, Kayla’s new behavior was something to comment on, but really the big topic is Chase!  The Waterbrook Ministry Center threw a banquet for all the Seniors in the youth RUSH group and we went out to cheer on Chase.  He’s graduating from Rowlett High school in June and going off to Baylor College.  I’m sure a certain Gmama couldn’t be prouder he’s going to her Alma mater either.  He’s going to be studying Computer Science, which means I’m sure, that during family gatherings Marshall and him will be talking about stuff that will go completely over my head.  A bunch of techno babble I’m sure will put Kayla and I to sleep.  I may be a geek, but when you start spouting equations like O(n²), which has actually been thrown at me in a conversation, I start to zone.  Excuse me, it’s not an equation, it’s a NOTATION, as I’ve just been informed.  I hate math.  So to Chase!  I wish you the best of luck, but I doubt you’ll need it!

Brothers Celebrating:  Ryan, Chase, and Marshall

I’ve also just recently set it up where you can receive an email every time I update my blog for anyone out there what wants it.  I’ll still post and tweet when I update, this is just going to be another option for the few people I know that don’t use either service. (Or just would prefer an email.)

100 miles for Charity

March9

Starting last month Marshall joined the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program to train and prepare for a century ride (100+ miles!) in beautiful Lake Tahoe on June 6, 2010.  And I’m helping spread the word.

Marshall has been working his way up to his first century for a good while now, and this is a great way to not only to push himself, but to raise money for a great charity. He’s asking for a donation, in whatever amount you feel is comfortable. A small portion of your donation helps him achieve his goal of reaching 100 miles, while the lion’s share goes towards the continued research and treatment of those afflicted by Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and other blood cancers.

If you feel compelled to do so, you can donate through his fundraising page here:

http://pages.teamintraining.org/ntx/ambbr10/mculpepper

As he trains, he’ll be posting his progress on his Twitter and Facebook pages here:

As the Paige Turns…

February7

Okay so I was sucked into the blog world.  Mainly because so many things happen in my life now that I want to remember and share with other people.  Mostly about my new baby girl who is 4 months at the moment.  Every day with her is a fun and because I’m a new mom, a learning experience.

I hope everyone likes the name of the blog, very original huh?  When Marshall suggested it I just gave him a dirty look.  Thinking it over though, it did really did seem like a blog name (or a soap opera).  And with a lack of anything better to call it or the fact everything else we liked was already taken, it grew on me.  And so, here we are.
